    Windows 7 Starter Edition 3 App Limit Dropped

    Microsoft has dropped the controversial 3 application limit on their Windows 7 starter edition. This is a huge win for netbook fans everywhere, because netbook manufacturers were certain to adopt Windows 7 Starter Edition in the fall. Now rather than being crippled by the 3 app limit we just miss out on a few features:

    * No Aero Glass effects
    * No ability to switch between users without logging off
    * Fewer personalization features (you won't be able to change desktop backgrounds, sound schemes, or window colors)
    * No support for multiple monitors
    * No DVD playback support (although I imagine you'll be able to add this with 3rd party software)
    * No Windows Media Center support
    * No support for streaming local media remotely over the internet
    * No domain support for business customers
    * XP Mode for running older programs is not included

    The features that hurt the most include the lack of support for multiple monitors, windows media center support and local media streaming. But at least we can run more than 3 programs now right?
