Verizon to start selling netbooks
After several rumors and reports that Verizon would begin selling netbooks bundled with wireless packages a company spokeswoman has just confirmed that Verzion will be selling netbooks in stores as early as Q2 of 2009.
This strategy only makes sense seeing as Verizon stands to rake in around $1,000+ in revenue over the course of a two year commitment they'll require consumers to make. But hey if you were already planning on buying a netbook and wireless internet with Verizon you may as well save a couple hundred dollars up front and buy it from Verizon right?
No manufacturers or models have been officially announced, but we'll have more on this as it develops.

What makes the Verizon netbook a bad deal is their archaic braodband plans. they don’t offer an unlimited plan, and the embedded broadband software only works on the Verizon network.
There are much better option out there for service including Sprint’s unlimited plan (barring the bad customer service), Cricket, or take advantage of new WIMAX services popping up.
As far as the unit itself, it doesn’t compare to the industry leader Acer Aspire One on price and standard features, not to mention the new model with the 11.6″ display, 1″ thin.
It’ only a good deal if you are already a Verizon customer, or the company is paying for it, but, there are better options out there, and you don’t have to break the bank.
Even if you order their netbook without the plan, it still come embedded, and it cost $599!
Not a good deal IMO.
