Toshiba Mini NB305 Hands On – I like
The Toshiba NB305 is the updated model to one of the best netbooks in 2009 - the NB205.
The Toshiba NB305 has the new 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard disk, 1,024 x 768 10.1 inch screen and Window 7 Starter.
After I had some time to go hands on with the new version I can confirm it's even better than last year's model. They moved the SD card over to the left hand side of the chassis as opposed to leaving it in the front. The battery life is also expected to be stellar as well clocking in at 11 hours! Based on how accurate Toshiba was on their last predictions of the battery life for it's netbook I'm very much inclined to believe them again here.

Hi, I’m a new NB305 owner, and I’m becoming more pleased with my purchase as the days go by. I’ll provide details, after I see if this ‘post’ needs a sign-up or not…
OK, here’s my ‘journey’ with the little guy (Java brown). My initial concerns with Windows Starter 7 have been allayed: we’re not limited to only three (separate) apps at a time; I can now change the background / desktop image – even run a slideshow – using Oceanis ( http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/47294-desktop-background-change-windows-7-starter.html ); my new HP DVD 556s (external slim DVD writer) – powered by USB (and having a second USB power boost cable if needed) came with Nero Essentials 8 etc.; DVD sound and good multimedia options have been sorted out by VLC Media player ( http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ ); and Skype will be tested this evening, now that the VLC has been installed. (Seems Win 7 Starter likes to be rebooted after some changes have been made; the webcam didn’t work in Skype initially, and sound may or may not work now.) “Onward and upward!”
