Splashtop 2.0 Hands On
Splashtop has a new 2.0 version out and it adds in some additional features worth checking out. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Splashtop it's basically a way to boot into a separate instant on operating system faster than if you were to go straight into Windows. So if you want to just access some core functionality you don't have to go to Windows to get it. The software has been bundled and re branded through a variety of OEMS like Lenovo and LG. The new version allows for near complete customization of the icons displayed after start up. In the past version Skype was one of the icons that would pop up. But if you didn't even have a Skype account it was a waste of space to even display the icon. With this new version you can add / remove and customize the icons you see on netbooks running Splashtop 2.0 (i.e. Lenovo S10-3t, Lenovo S10-3, LG X120 etc.).

I personally tried to find a netbook that had a quick start option which is why I settled with a Lenovo netbook so seeing the Spalshtop 2.0 features makes me pretty dang excited!
