Samsung NC10-14GB Review
When it comes time to buy yourself, or a loved one, a new netbook you will be inundated by ads for the newest models on the market because that seems to be the way that the technology market works. Everyone seems to be interested in what is new, and what is now. Last years model is passe by the time that even a modest upgrade comes out on the market.
In this increasingly budget conscious world however having what is newest is not always possible, and just because something is a little bit older does not mean that it is not still good. Today, I am going to talk to you about the charms of one older model and show you how it could make the vast majority of users as happy as if they had bought a hot off the drawing board model.
The model in question is the Samsung NC10-14GB and while there is a newer model in the line, it is still a great choice.
Lets, talk specs. The Samsung NC10-14GB is sporting an Intel Atom processor N270, which is a solid selection for a netbook. As a matter of fact many of the current mid-range netbooks are still based on this current processor. The 160 GB is admittedly not the largest on the block, but when you look at its cost of $249 and remember that netbooks do most of their storing on the cloud or other web based services, you see that this is ample for the vast majority of students or professionals.
Battery life hovers around the eight hour mark, depending on which source you ask, and that is a solid lifespan for any mobile device. Many more expensive models can only boast six hours of working time. The operating system in Microsoft XP, which again is not the newest OS, but if you want something familiar that will get the job done and be stable then you need look no further. XP is the last operating system that was truly a rave for Microsoft.
On the whole the Samsung NC10-14GB is a great machine for anyone who is not looking to get a media center out of their netbook. It will give you the speed you need, with enough memory to hold your critical files and an operating system that won't let you down. Well worth the buy.
