    Samsung NB30 Hands On

I went hands on with all three new Samsung netbook models, but the one I liked the most was the new durable Samsung NB30. I can't recall any previous netbooks that were released in the past that even tried to go after the durable market so it's nice to see Samsung embracing a new niche within netbooks. Before I get into the details I want you to know that by no means is this akin to a Panasonic Toughbook, but it does introduce several features into the design which allow it to be more rugged.

Here is an overview of the ways the NB30 is a more ruggedly designed netbook than others out on the market:

    1. Shock, mark and scratch resistant casing
    2. Hard drive stops spinning if it senses it has been dropped (accelerometer I believe)
    3. Up to 50 cc of liquid can be spilled and if it's removed in 10 seconds the netbook should be ok

In my hands it felt very solid and well built and the new keyboard is also very well done as well. There are also options for a touch screen and 3G if you desire. The battery also packs am 11 hour punch too.

the nb30 only has 6.5hr battery according to the Samsung web site. But otherwise it’s the best netbook and I’m ordering it.
