When you want to buy a netbook for your kids you will find that there are a surprising number of options, but lets be honest, you really do not want to buy an adult model for a young child. They tend to make messes, and break things, and if they damage a $400 piece of electronics you are going to be miffed. So, lets look a model that is more kid friendly both in its design and in its price point.

Today we are going to take a look at Wolvol White Kid's Laptop, and while its name is fairly unassuming you will find that what you get for the price is a solid option for all young kids. It comes in at the very budget friendly price of $129.99. Now, lets take a look at the specs.

The system is powered by Android 2.2, which is good news for you because if something goes wrong their is a slew of documentation out there to help you fix it. The system has a 7" with a resolution of 800 by 480, and while that may not sound like a lot to you, remember that most young children do not have a need of HD to play their online games.

The system is set up for both Wi-Fi and 3G, and comes with a 1.3 megapixil digital camera, an SD card reader and three USB ports, which is fairy impressive for such an inexpensive machine, and given that it has a 2GB of built in memory the extra space need will be needed as soon as they reach the age of download.

One the whole the Wolvol White Kid's Laptop is a solid option for any parent who wants to introduce technology to their children without spending an arm and a leg.

When you set out to get your hands on a budget netbook there are a lot of things to consider. First and foremost you need to be careful of the quality of the product that you are buying. Then, just like when you are making any other technology product purchase, you need to be sure to match the right product to the right end user. After all , even if a product is great, if it does not meet your needs you will not use it that often and you will have wasted your money.

Today, we are going to talk about the 7" EPC WolVol Netbook , peek under the hood at its specs and then decide who this option would be good for.

The system has a processor that is unnamed, except for its bus speed, which we know to be 300 MHz. That is not very fast if you are going to run high power application or stream a lot of media, but it can get the basics done for you. The hard drive size is 2GB, which means that most of the storage will have to on the cloud or you can take advantage of the USB 2.0 slot and a flash drive. The whole thing weighs about 6 pounds.

Given what we know about the hardware for the 7" EPC WolVol Netbook and the fact that it comes in a wide selection of candy coated colors (black, green, red, pink, white) we can get a good idea of who this system is for. It is for kids. Younger children, who are prone to abusing their technology, can make do with the slower speeds and use it for its almost inevitable function, web games and site browsing. For them the small hard drive will not be much of an issue. If you consider this machine to be one step up from the toy laptops in Wal-Mart you will understand its demographic right away.

We all know what Black Friday Means. It means some long, long lines, usually waiting in the cold and dark. It means that you are going to be a bit cranky the day after your pumpkin pie high. And every once and a while it means that you can get a really, really great deal on the big ticket items on your Christmas list.

When it comes to a major technology purchase what you need to do is follow a simple procedure.

1. Know what you are looking for before you go shopping.
2. Find it on the sales flier of at least one retailer.
3. Compare prices*.
4. Decide where to shop.
5. Find out where they open and get on the line.

This year there are not a lot of special sales for netbook users out there. These are the best of the inexpensive listings out there for Black Friday.

Best Buy
Gateway 10.1" Netbook w/ 1GB, 250GB - $149.99

GoHastings.com
Sound Logic 7" Android Netbook (Thursday Only) - $99.99

Target
Acer Aspire One 10.1" Netbook w/ 1GB Memory & 250GB Hard Drive for $157.00

There you have it. The best of the netbook deals. Remember, do not be taken in by the fliers. Just because it shows you a netbook with a price does not means it is part of the sale. Savvy retailers have been listing their lower cost netbooks at full price on their Black Friday fliers. Check the website for today's price to see if you are not getting a special deal.

Have a good days shopping and don't forget that after the shopping is over you can go and get a nap.

* Yes, you may have to buy more than one item on Black Friday. Many of us do. If you want to get the best deals over all then you may want to be sure to do your comparisons with all of your products in line.

Mobile devices, like your favorite netbook, are great when you are in a Wi-Fi zone. But, what about when you are not in a Wi-Fi zone. If you need to be connected everywhere then you need a wireless data plan. Of course, you do not have an unlimited data plan budget to fall back on. If you want to keep your budget from busting and you need get a plan you should weigh your options.

Looks like Sprint is going to give netbook and tablet users unlimited data plans for your mobile devices at a lower rate. They are also adding a few new options to the plan. The folks over at Sprint claim that thy are offering a pricing plan that will offer the same amount of data at lower price points than similar plans released by Verizon or AT&T.

The lowest tiered plan will offer consumers up to 1 GB of data for just under $20. The biggest plan offer users up to 12 GB of data for the cost of $79.99. Those are decent rates, but the lower end plans are a little bit persnickety about what devices they can be used on. So, the news is a mixed blessing. The 1 GB monthly is only compatible with tablets an will not work with the netbooks. So be aware that when you choose a plan for your netbook is has to be compatible.

If you go over the fees do a little but more costly. The overage rate is a total of $0.05 per each MB of data used while on Sprint’s network, or the higher rate of up to $0.25 per MB while roaming on other carriers networks.

The plans do support an option for mobile hot spots use, but only on the higher cost plans. So, if you need to share amongst your mobile devices choose wisely.

The Dell Inspiron netbook Intel Atom N455 is a bit of an interesting proposition for only $329.99. It offers the typical netbook user a lot of what they need to get thorough the day, but it skips on a lot of the frills that would attract users who come from specialty sets, such as the videophiles.

Coming in at roughly 3.0 pounds, according to the manufacturer, this offering is not particularly light, but it is heavier than some other netbooks. Then again, users who are in search of something much lighter may be happier with a different netbook model.

The keyboard however, is something to write home about. For a netbook this 92 percent of full-size keyboard is a blessing for any user who is going to write more than a casual email or two in a single sitting. Both mobile workers and fanatics of Facebook will find this keyboard easy to use.

The Operating System is Windows 7 Starter, which can be a good and a bad thing. Windows users will find it easy to adapt to, anyone else will be annoyed by the Microsoft design. It is also worth mentioning that you will have access to neither the Apple App Store or the Amazon App Store for Android, which are the two most popular, and largest app stores out there. So, you may have a harder time finding your favorite apps for your netbook.

Now, lets talk about the graphics. The webcam is pretty much sad, even at this price point. The built-in webcam has a resolution of only 0.3MP, so do not expect to be taking any high-resolution photos or having slick video chat with this setup. The system has a 10.1-inch white light-emitting diode display, with a 16:9 aspect ratio. While this screen may give you a decent enough resolution for streaming standard definition web video, but nothing in the high definition realm will be possible with this setup. The 10.1-inch screen is a standard size for netbooks. On the whole, the graphics are good enough for business use, but not good enough for anyone who really loves their films, though, admittedly most of those people do not invest in netbooks for exactly this reason.

The 250GB hard drive is a good thing. In fact, it is really, with the keyboard, the saving grace of this machine. This is a solid amount of memory for any user who needs to install software for their work, even if it is a larger piece of software, such as Photoshop.

On the whole, with a price tag of $329.99, this Dell Inspiron netbook intel atom N455 is good for the world of business but not so much for play. Users who are ready to get down to business will be pleased with this offering and everyone else will feel a little let down.

If this machine is not the one for you, consider looking at our netbook comparison page to figure out what machine is right for you.

It is not too expensive, at roughly $250, but the question still remains, is this offering worth even this low and reasonable price or should you choose another machine?

Let's take a look at what the ASUS Eee PC 1001PXD-EU17-BK 10.1-Inch Netbook (Black) has to offer you. It comes equipped with an Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor, which is a fairly decent offering for a machine that isn't designed to be processing heavy. Its maximum memory capacity is 2GB, but it can be expanded with the help of the 2-in-1 Card Reader and an SD card. Just be aware that by default the machine comes with only 1 GB DDR3 SODIMM memory, so consider that SD card to be an essential component when you get the machine.

Sadly, there is no optical drive, and while this is not unusual for a netbook, it does limit the ways that you can read and transfer data, and if you are in a pinch on the road this may become a real issue. Though, admittedly this is not going to be a big issue in day to day use, since you will have time to prepare, and put things on a flash drive. Just be aware that the usb ports are on opposite sides of system, so if you need to use anything that requires multiple ports, such as an external optical drive, you will find yourself in need of extra accessories.

The 10 inch screen can actually deal with some pretty high definition graphics, up to 1024X600 with its LED display. Considering that HD clocks in at 1080, this is nothing to balk at. It isn't an HD display, but this is a solid resolution for handling media applications, such as streaming your favorite TV shows from Hulu while you wait in an airport, or wind down in your hotel room. The web cam is a bit of a disappointment, at only 0.3MP, but it will get you through a basic video chat.

The system comes with the Windows 7 Starter Operating System which is a mixed bag. The good news is that you can expect reliable performance and a small learning curve. The bad news is that the version of MS Office that comes with this tablet has ads in it, and you will get sick of those quickly. This model does not come with Windows Live Mail installed.

Battery life is about four hours, which is the same as the advertised specs on the system. On the whole, if you do not use CD's or DVD's that often this is a solid option for the price.

If you want, you can buy this machine at Amazon for $249.99

Despite the release of a lot of tablets, March was still a very busy month for netbooks. While in previous months, Asus and Acer had the highest number of sales per month, this month, it's an entirely new device. The Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 4034CLB Netbook (Clear Black) had the most sales in March and when looking at the specs of the device, that makes sense. It's got the Intel Atom 1.55GHz drive inside it, 250GB HD, and 1GB of RAM. The 10" screen gives it a great size that explains why the device, priced at $249.99, sold so many in March.

However, there were also a lot of other really great netbooks sold in March that differed from previous months. For example, Toshiba's NB505 model was ranked #4 in February, but is now actually the #2 netbook. This definitely backs up the argument that netbooks aren't dead; people are still getting them and if the price is right, they'll definitely buy one. Here are the other netbooks in order of best selling.

1. Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 4034CLB Netbook (Clear Black)

These are the top ten of March. I bolded the ones that I felt were a really great deal, but definitely go through them all and see which one meets your needs an expectations.Remember that it is important to purchase a netbook that has a good hard drive, a strong battery and is running with enough RAM.
