<p>Today two netbooks are going to go head to head for your pleasure. After the bought is over you can see which netbook has the right stuff to make it worthy of a space inside your home, backpack or your life in general.</p>
<p>Let's meet our first contender: The <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051OLL1M/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=otr01-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373&amp;creativeASIN=B0051OLL1M">HP Mini 210-3060NR</a><img style="border: none !important;margin: 0px !important" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=otr01-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B0051OLL1M&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></p>
<p>Price: $299.99</p>
<p>This system is sporting an Intel® Atom N455 Processor, which is reliable and shows up in a number of netbook models. It has 250GB of hard drive, and a<br />
10.1" display with a resolution of 1024 x 600. The operating system is Windows® 7 Starter (32-bit). It weighs roughly three pounds.</p>
<p>Now, our second combatant: The <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004G8QZPQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=otr01-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373&amp;creativeASIN=B004G8QZPQ">Toshiba NB505-N508BN</a><img style="border: none !important;margin: 0px !important" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=otr01-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B004G8QZPQ&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></p>
<p>Price: $264.99</p>
<p>This system is also sporting the Intel Atom N455 processor and 250GB of memory. It has a 10.1display with a resolution of 1024 x 600. The operating system is also Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. The system has a measured battery life of 8 hours, 21 minutes. This system also weighs about three pounds.</p>
<p>The Bout</p>
<p>You can probably see the issue here already, can't you? These systems are so similar that they probably could have been made in the same factory, on the same day. The only real difference is the name on (and color of) the case. So, how do you decide when they are both equally matched?</p>
<p>That one is easy. You go with the price point. Our second contender is about $30 cheaper than the first one. Save your $30 for a nice meal out and buy number two. The bottom line is that both of these netbooks are a good choice for professionals and students who aren't too in love with their HD media to see straight and choosing the less expensive one makes the best sense in this case.

<p>Today, we are going to talk about the<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BH4N12/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=otr01-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399369&amp;creativeASIN=B002BH4N12">HP Mini 110-1030NR </a><img style="border: none !important;margin: 0px !important" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=otr01-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B002BH4N12&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399369" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" />. While it may not be a diamond in the rough, it is really a wonderful netbook option for the vast majority of users. It will not do for someone who truly needs to have a high-end experience, from their machine, but since most people do not need that, most users should consider this choice before shell out for a more expensive option. At $185.00 this model is a steal.</p>
<p>The processor inside the system is a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, which runs at a speed of 1 GB. The memory in the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BH4N12/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=otr01-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399369&amp;creativeASIN=B002BH4N12">HP Mini 110-1030NR </a><img style="border: none !important;margin: 0px !important" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=otr01-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B002BH4N12&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399369" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /> is 160GB, which is enough to let you get your work done online, while still leaving you a little bit of space for play. As long as most of your media is online streaming from sites like Hulu you should be fine.</p>
<p>The screen is 10.1-inch, which is fairly normal for a netbook, and while there are a few with bigger screens out there you will pay a significantly higher amount for one of them. The screen resolution of 1024x576 is good, but not HD. The system sports the ever-familiar Windows XP Home operating system. Pair that with almost seven hour of battery life and you can see how this is a machine that most users would be content with, as long as they do not have top of the line expectations.

<p>Buying your first netbook can be a bit of an overwhelming experience. After all there are a lot of different things to consider and you may not know which ones matter and which ones don't. The best strategy that you can take is to filter out the noise by doing head to head comparisons of two options in your price range. That is why today, we are going to look at two laptops in the $200 to $300 range and give them a side by side comparison that will help you to choose between the two without too much stress and fuss.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004PVD74Q/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=otr01-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373&amp;creativeASIN=B004PVD74Q">The Acer Diamond Black 10.1" Aspire One AOD255E-2677 </a><img style="border: none !important;margin: 0px !important" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B004PVD74Q&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></p>
<p>This system is based on the Intel Atom N450 processor which runs at a speed of 1.66GHz, that is paired with a 160GB hard drive. It has a 3-cell lithium-ion battery that gives it up to 4 hours of battery life for the end users. The netbook is Wi-Fi only and it comes with the following ports: three USB 2.0 ports, one VGA port, and a 2-in-1 digital media card reader. It also has a built in .3MP webcam. The operating system is Windows 7 and the device weighs in at 2.76 pounds.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004G8QO8Y/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=otr01-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373&amp;creativeASIN=B004G8QO8Y">The HP Mini 110-3530NR Netbook </a><img style="border: none !important;margin: 0px !important" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B004G8QO8Y&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /></p>
<p>This model features an Intel Atom Processor N455 that runs at a speed of 1.66 GHz, and has a 250GB hard drive to back it up. The batter life comes in at just about under five hours, with normal usage. The operating system is also Windows 7 Starter. It comes in at a final weight of 3.11 pounds.</p>
<p>So, which choice should you make? Well, that depends, but more people will be happier with the greater memory space of the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004G8QO8Y/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=otr01-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373&amp;creativeASIN=B004G8QO8Y">HP Mini 110-3530NR Netbook </a><img style="border: none !important;margin: 0px !important" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B004G8QO8Y&amp;camp=217145&amp;creative=399373" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" />. Of course, if you want to do some more comparing you can check out our <a href="http://www.netbookreviews.com/netbook-comparison/">netbooks comparison page</a> to find the model that want.

<p>Bottom Line continued after the break</p>
<p><span id="more-2508"></span></p>
<p><strong>Bottom Line:</strong></p>
<p>They said that the HP Mini 210 offered one of the best keyboards in it's class along with an HD screen at a reasonable price (<a href="http://www.netbookreviews.com/sony-vaio-w-review/">Sony Vaio W</a> also offers an HD screen). If you don’t need HD capabilities, for $85 less you can get an <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00322PYUY?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=otr01-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B00322PYUY">ASUS Eee PC 1001P</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=otr01-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B00322PYUY" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />, which also has an excellent keyboard, performs marginally better, and lasts about 2 hours longer on battery. In the $380ish price range they prefer the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00303G9FY?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=otr01-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B00303G9FY">Toshiba Mini NB305</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=otr01-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B00303G9FY" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> because of its better ergonomics and cooler running temperatures. The Toshiba NB305 also happens to be what I named as the <a href="http://www.netbookreviews.com/best-netbook/">best netbook</a> of CES. I'll add that the HP Mini 210 comes in a TON of different configurations so be sure to browse our <a href="http://www.netbookreviews.com/netbook-comparison">netbook comparison</a> database to sort through the various models and prices.</p>
<p><strong>Quick Product Specs:</strong></p>
<p>Intel Atom N450 1.66 GHz Processor, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, Windows 7 Starter <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0033H0LNS?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=otr01-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B0033H0LNS">see full specs</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=otr01-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B0033H0LNS" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /></p>
<p>Note: I'll update this review with more of my own impressions if HP sends me out a Mini 210, but they're notorious for never having enough demo models to send out.

<p><strong>Bottom Line:</strong></p>
<p>The HP Mini 1000 is an improvement over the HP 2133 mini note - HP's first netbook; however, it still suffers from some critical design flaws. Besides losing the very popular aluminum casing the netbook still relies on two touchpad buttons on each side of the touchpad. While the arguement can be made that the buttons were placed in this manner to allow for a larger touch pad, I believe they could shrink the touch pad a tad and find a spot to place the buttons below the touch pad. I personally get frustrated when I use netbooks like those offered by <a href="http://www.netbookreviews.com/category/hp/">HP</a> and the <a href="http://www.netbookreviews.com/acer-aspire-one-review/">Acer Aspire One</a> with this design choice, but if it doesn't bother you the HP Mini 1000 is a great netbook. (note, be sure to view the look at the specs where you intend to by the HP Mini 1000 as there are several HP Mini 1XXX model variants) </p>
