    HP Mini 311 Benchmarked, ION = Must Have

    HP-Mini-311-OpenLaptopmag had a chance to test out the HP Mini 311 and so far the results are very promising. The HP Mini 311 surpassed every other netbook that's been tested before. Here are some quick stats:

    PCMark 05 = 1,917 points (Nearly 500 points above the average)
    3DMark06 = 1,386 points (That's 1200 points above the netbook average)
    HP Mini 311 vs Ultaportable Notebooks like the MSI X340 and Asus UL30 resulted in yet another smashing victory for the ION powered netbook

    They also tested 1080p playback and received some promising results. Head on over to the article for more insight, but the bottom line is that Nvidia's ION platform is the best thing to happen to netbooks in 2009.

    1. Smidgen PC says:

      I want to know Ion’s load performance.

      That is to say, how much power does it use when it is doing something graphically intense?

      The Laptop Mag test is web surfing only. That doesn’t really tell us anything except that Ion’s idle power consumption is a bit high.
