Default NB205 review

The Toshiba nb205 arrived today. So far, so good (OK, better than good). I opened the box and unpacked the 'puter and power supply, plugged it in and began charging the battery while I actually read the quick start guide. After admiring the rich sable brown color of the lid, the first thing I noticed was the solid feel to the thing. The massive hinge is tight and loaded in a way that there is no need for a latch.

The power switch is in the center of the hinge and has a positive feel. The "on" light in the power switch is not at all distracting for me in low light. The keyboard is quite comfortable with a positive feel to the keys. The top row of function keys are about 1/3 the size of the normal keys but, so far, are not problematic. The "tab" key is in the right place, but only 1/2 size. Again, not problematic.

I'll be back later to finish up. Time to get the grandkids to bed.
