Default Connecting to internet with Toshiba Mini NB305-N310 question

Hello

I am thinking about buying the Toshiba Mini NB305-N310 and
would like to know what is the best option for connecting to the
internet with it if Wi-Fi is not available at my location.

I will have access to a standard phone line, would I need or would
I be able to use a PC Card with this unit?

Which of the slots would be used for the PC Card?

thanks

I assume you are talking about substandard dial-up internet. You would not be able to use any type of PC card with that netbook. Instead, you would have to purchase a USB dial-up modem. Your phone line would plug into that and you would dial out using the netbook.

One thing you might want to look at is the availability of DSL, Broadband, or 3G Broadband internet services. The reason why I state this is dial-up internet costs around $10-$15 a month and you can download at 5kb/s. It will literally take you 10 minutes just to dial on and check your e-mail. However, inexpensive DSL service will cost you $15 a month and you can get a connection around 30kb/s. You could even take one of those high speed internet connection services and hook a wi-fi router up to them. Then you could access high speed internet anywhere in your house through wi-fi.
