Default Toshiba T115D-S1120 vs S1125 worth the extra $50?

Is the 1125 worth the extra $50 over the 1120. The only difference is the dual core vs single core processor. How much difference will the dual core actually make?

Thanks!

Well, it will make quite a bit of difference especially under Windows 7 as that was written to take advantage of multiple processors/cores. Additionally, there are many programs out now that can also take advantage of dual-core processors. Take dBpowerAMP or foobar2000 as an example, they can encode two audio files at once without encountering a hiccup. Many video encoding/editing applications also perform much better with dual-core processors.

Look at the computer industry as a whole: dual-core processors have become the norm whether we are talking about the bland Pentium line, Core labeled processors, the AMD line, etc. The single-core line of computers are the ones that stick out as they are no longer the standard.

Also don't forget that the S1125 comes with a 320GB hard drive while the S1120 has a 250GB hard drive. So you are basically paying more for double the processors and 70GB more of storage.

Thanks. My boss (aka my wife) just gave me the go ahead to buy! I get my income tax return the end of the month and I am 99% sure I am going to get the Toshiba T115D-1125. Been hearing lots of good stuff on other forums about this little netbook. Plus it has everything I have been wanting (could use a longer battery life). I can go through Bing and use Tigerdirect and get it for around $426 shipped.

According to someone else on the forums, there is a 12-cell battery. It likely looks like an ugly mess that sticks out the back of the ultra portable notebook but it will give you a theoretical 12 hours of battery life.

I think if I can get 4 to 5 hours consistantly, then the netbook will be okay for me. I don't want to have a big mess sticking out of the back. LOL.

Thanks!

Where is the cheapest I can pick up another 2GB of ram for this machine? Can you provide a link?

All the reviews state that it has 1-2GB RAM installed and the other slot is open.

Thanks
