Wow, this one really surprises me. Asus is normally an economically feasible solution for consumers but I think this goes beyond that ~$450 cap that netbooks should have. The 32GB of SSD is nice but other than that, I see no need why this is over $500. I can buy a dual-core HP tablet for only $50 and it comes with a lot more features (including multi-touch finger input and the ability to playback 1080p videos, a built-in DVD+-R/RW drive, and a battery life of about 8 hours).

I wonder what type of market Asus is trying to tap with this as the hardware is still a normal netbook yet it has the added feature of touch input. To me, this is like taking a 1998 Ford Escort and putting big 24" rims on it. What is the point? The engine (ie hardware) behind those rims would need to get beefed up in order to properly drive those rims (ie features).
