It is nice that netbook manufacturers are offering something other than a Linux distro, Windows XP, or Windows 7. However, I have a feeling that Android on a netbook is a lot like buying a monster truck and putting an engine from a 1970 Ford Pinto in it.
Too bad Acer didn't step up on the hardware though. They took the generic N280+GMA 950 combination and put a couple of OS's on it. Still interesting though. I wonder if Android consumes a lot less resources. That means that netbooks could potentially get 15-25 hours when running Android for basic internet browsing (ie anything not requiring Flash or Java).
