The only problem with that will be trying to access the BIOS settings (as you pointed out). It is already a pain to do so on my aged tablet PCs, my current netbooks, and my desktop. Each BIOS takes about 4 seconds to load (7 seconds on my tablets) and I often miss that little window when I can press F2, F4, or F5 (F2 for netbook, F4 for tablets, and F5 for desktop) to access BIOS settings. It is hard to get in there even when I am constantly hitting one of the Function keys.
However, faster BIOS boot times (and faster OS boot times) are always welcome. I remember back in the day when my computer that I purchased in 1997 would boot Windows 98 in 1 minute and 30 seconds. That was blazing fast as most other people were stuck waiting for 2-3 minutes. That was when 7200 RPM drives were new and I had an 8GB model in mine. It now takes my 8-core desktop about 26 seconds to boot Windows Vista, I am sure Windows 7 will load even faster.
