I have to build 20 sheets with one 5X11 table and two small tables. By time I made a template and entered data for five of the sheets I still had over seven hours of battery left on my Asus 1000HE. I still think it is the
pick of the Asus litter.
The 1KHE hard drive access door is good for me. I've changed the hard drive from platter to SSD and back several times trying five combinations with different OSes. I've switched the RAM from 667MHz to 800MHz. I pull the battery each time.
Although the 1KHE is fat and Boss Ugly, it runs cool and is adaptable. The Asus 901 is not only a look alike, a LiL Ugly, but functionally is identical.
The Asus family of 1000HE, 1005HA and 1008HA has made an impressive year for netbooks.
It appears the netbook niche is getting larger with upgraded components and higher prices. I don't know that I'll be ready to switch.
