Default Lenovo X100e Review

Pros: Terrific design, Great keyboard Cons: Low battery life Bottom Line: The Lenovo X100e is an 11.6 inch business class netbook coming from the Thinkpad line and is currently priced at $514.95. Nice review. It seems that Lenovo is trying to target the business market with some of their latest netbook releases. The battery life is a little disappointing but it is on par with other AMD Neo equipped models. The nice thing about going with a dual-core AMD processor (over ANY dual-core Atom netbook) is that the Neo processor performs more like a full fledged notebook while any Atom processor performs like a netbook. That is one of the drawbacks to getting an ION 2 netbook: you still get a netbook processor. Intel is making the Atom processor extremely power efficient so that netbooks are pushing the 10 hour mark but their performance is still sub-par even with the latest dual-core Atom chips. The 1.8GHz one coming out soon doesn't really perform any better than the older 1.6GHz Atom 330. I doubt we will really see any noticeable increase in performance from an Atom chip until Intel hits the 2.2-2.5GHz mark. I think the ULV Core i series processor will become cost effective and will have saturated the market by then.

Default X100e refresh

Was talking to one of Lenovo's distributors.
Got the impression that Lenovo might soon refresh the x100 series.

Wondering if anyone else heard news/rumours to that effect.
