Default Netbook Deals – Acer Aspire One $299

I was looking on Amazon for a few new blu rays that I wanted to add to my collection and was greeted by an Acer Aspire One 'recently viewed item' at $299.99! At $319 the Acer Aspire One is already a good deal, but at just under $300 it's a great deal. Full Specs: [...]

Default Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165

That price is for refurbished. (edit: and only one is offered) This new Acer has a three door approach to upgrading HDD, RAM and wifi which makes it much better than the older take it apart model. The computer itself is so so (no sleeve, .3 cam, no BT). It has the rocker style trackpad button. I never caught on to the side placed trackpad buttons. It is affordable though.

That really isn't that bad. All netbooks pretty much run the same hardware so companies have to duke it out with their products in terms of price, style, and any added features/hardware/accessories. I wonder if that is any indication for what Acer is going to do in the future. They contracted with Broadcom to bring the Crystal HD chip to a line of Aspire One netbooks. I wonder if stores are clearing the older Aspire Ones out for the newer ones.

Oh, a little off-topic but Amazon is having a sale on the Ultimate Matrix Trilogy on Blu-ray. All three movies and the Animatrix in 1080p for $68.49. The price was up around the $80 range a couple of days ago. I would buy the Blu-ray set but I already have the standard trilogy on HD-DVD. I also have the Animatrix in 1080p from another source. All of the bonus material is in 480i/p so no need for me to spend that much money just to get it again (with the same audio and video quality no less).
