This had so many areas where Asus could have achieved something great. The captive touch screen is definitely a plus and the overall size of the nettop is great. Asus truly failed when it came to the operating system (Windows XP, really?), storage (16GB SSD just won't cut it anymore), lack of accelerated HD video playback (watching 360p Flash content is not fun on a 1024X768+ screen), and most importantly; they messed up on the price. $600 is way too much for this especially whenever you can find dual-core nettops with ION graphics, 250GB hard drives, and built-in optical drives for less than that and they take up as much space as a Nintendo Wii. Worse yet is you can even find very slim compact desktops with triple and quad-core processors around that same price.
I understand what Asus was going for but they just messed up on too many aspects. I was contemplating this over the Acer nettop I purchased but the announced price and specs just turned me away.
