ANY netbook with 1 or two USB ports will work with an external optical drive. I say one or two as some of the drives will use one USB connection and an AC adapter for power while others will just use two USB connections (one for data and one for power). You can purchase an external DVD +-R/RW DL drive for about $49.
It is impossible to add an internal optical drive to a netbook though.
