I agree. This paying more for branding is exactly what you claim.
Good companies know that strong brands can drive an increase in sales. The company is better suited to attract and retain the best employees. (That's cool!) Vendors can see value in a brand and look to establish partnerships with the business while investors will see the business and the brand equity as a valuable commodity.
A brand is a vision.
Companies with strong brands ensure that each employee is empowered to identify and deal with customer problems. When companies fail to deliver on a brand with one customer, (s)he might never forget and, believe it or not, some people might hold a grudge against the brand forever.
A strong brand allows a company to offer good deals to customers like the ones here.
