With the standard specs for netbooks, I'm looking at what differentiates them. Style is one difference but beauty is in the eye of the beholder I've been told. My 1000HE is ugly.

The fat little 1KHE does have more room inside for cooling and it is sturdy.
What makes the difference in the 1005HA that it can offer such long battery life?
For a review, I would like to know if the hard drive and RAM are easily accessible for upgrades. Just open a bottom door on the 1KHE. Of course, adding a 500GB HDD or any size SSD plus a 2GB RAM fudges the cheap aspect of a netbook.
I'd like to know what wi-fi module is being used and whether it is a two or three wire antenna connecting at both 2.4 and 5ghz. My 1KHE uses model AW-NE771, two wire, dual band but the default driver had a problem with TKIP/n only so I changed drivers. Now it is full spectrum.
Same for BlueTooth. In the 1KHE it is AzureWave BT253. Did you try several real world connections?
What trackpad is in use. My 1KHE Elantech Smartpad is still the worst part of the package. I've tried several drivers and am making peace with it.
I like all the details I can get.
