Nice review. However, I do have a minor correction in your test:
Overall Performance:

This netbook features the faster Intel Atom N270 1.66 GHz processor, so it's slightly faster than most of the other netbooks out there although there will be little difference in the real world.

That should be the Atom N280 processor, not N270. Not a big deal as we all know what you are talking about. The 1008HA is still tempting as a secondary model but I just can't muster up an excuse to get another netbook. I did, however, order one for my Mom for Christmas. The 2GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive, and small package made it worth the money for my purchase. The battery life is also about 2 hours more than she will ever need. The schools purchased an Acer model for her that has a 3-cell battery. She was getting about 2.5 hours of real world usage. That was about as much as she needed so the 1008HA will be a better improvement. My only gripe about the Eee PC models is that Asus still puts in a low resolution monitor. My Mom can care less but browsing the internet on those low resolution monitors really takes a lot of scrolling especially whenever I am used to the 1336X768 panel in my netbook. That was a deal breaker for me but I don't think it is a problem for the average user.
