Default Video Software?

I need a recommendation for a piece of software that can be downloaded from the net to edit video with! If it was free, all the better! I need something that allows me to splice clips. I use my Zi6 and make short clips which I need to pull together into one video.

MediaImpressions came with the camera, but it seems to be incomplete. It will load to UTube and one can view video from it, but it's editing capabilities seem to be very limiited. HELP!!

Beth

Beth, just a suggestion. You do what you want or feel like you need to do but it is usually considered bad form to post the same Zi6 editing software request in several threads. You might want to post one request for free software, another request for fee software, another request for help on splicing. Spread the wealth.

Hi Beth...just a friendly note that I feel you are not going to get a lot of answers for this post. Reasons:

1)This request has nothing to do with MSI products...it is a general question asking for a video editing software recommendation for any netbook. If you have specific MSI questions such as model #s, reviews, problems with your particular MSI hardware, etc...then this MSI area would be the place (and only place since you don't want to duplicate posts) to post such an MSI specific question.

2)Maybe you missed it but this topic has been in deep discussion in the GENERAL area...please check there as the last post was just a day or 2 ago.

As Netbooking said, you can post where you like...but most people will just ignore areas like Dell, MSI, HP if they own an Asus. Hence you will have very few people reading your posts...and hence a very poor reply rate.

p.s. MS Windows XP ships with MS Movie Maker which is pretty decent for quick, easy, video editing. It is installed on the Start Menu.

I would also suggest Windows Movie Maker. It isn't advanced by any means but it can get the job done. Movie Maker also doesn't require the best hardware for SD video editing. In fact, on my previous netbooks, I could encode a 10 minute 640X480 video in about 6 minutes. Not bad for netbook hardware.

Beth, did you read my post in the hardware/sofware do you want thread about which editing software I use and my referral to a list of video editing software? I hope so. By asking your question there too, you were hi-jacking the hardware/software thread and if you didn't go back to it you missed the answer which spreads this topic out across several threads.

This forum is not currently moderated. No one is around to help move posts into the correct threads. Your participation is really appreciated. Your request really got into the nature of netbooks. Got a lot of responses. Just not the one you want.

Beth, if you have the MSI Wind U200, Pinnacle Studio 12 is really good editing software and this is exactly the right section to be using for your request. Most netbooks have the 1024X600 screen but as users of the U200 know, it has the fuller 1366X768 screen required by the editing software. It's not free but is inexpensive and affordable.

Yup I think there are almost many netbooks have 1024 multiply 768 screen by default mode so its not huge problem !
