Default 6 cell battery

Yes, my U100 came with a 3 cell battery which has a MUCh too short life! I just 'sprung' for a 6 cell...

Yes, I did it! I ordered a 6 cell battery for my MSI Wind yesterday on eBay. I'm hoping it will work okay. Not sure about eBay sellers. Anyone had experiences (good or bad) with eBay sellers?

I'm hoping for an extension of my battery time by a good 2-3 hours!! I get only about 2 hours now and that's not enough!

Will let you know when it arrives and how well it works.

Beth

Getting well over 4 hours on a charge after 3rd charge/drain cycle. So far, so good! Love it!

Strange behavior of battery symbol in system tray! When I hover over a full battery in the system tray it changes by the second. First hover gave me 4 hours 41 mins.; next gave me 5 hours, 4 minutes! Why would these be so different?

Default battery meter

The battery use indicator is dynamic so it changes depending on what you are doing. If the screen is static, CPU/GPU usage is lower and the battery meters lower or indicates longer reserves. If a wi-fi or bluetooth shakes hands with your computer or disingages, the battery meter changes. The same for the hard drive at idle or spinning.

That's what I like about life. It's always something.

I worked from the battery for the first time this Am and it worked for under 3 hours. I arrived at the library at around 9:00 Am and the battery died (netbook went into hibernate) at around noon. I have set the hibernate time back so that it should give me mroe time on the battery before going into hibernate. I'll see about turning the screen brightness down too. Seems like this battery should go more than 3 hours!!

Hi Beth,

I would politely suggest that you choose which forum to post your question. Having the same question in multiple forums causes headaches for everyone, especially you, because people aren't going to reply to every instance of your question.

I just left you a long reply in the other forum...please use that forum going forward for this topic.

Just trying to offer some advice...I have belonged to a lot of forums since the early 90's and from experience, people will ignore your posts/threads if you "cross-post" to multiple forums...because they don't know if you are going to go back and remember every which place you asked....so why are they going to bother helping if you might never read?

Just posting to let you know I read your reply. I apologize for this 'red herring.' Will not do it any more. Thanks for the 'heads up.'
