Sorry I missed your post. Yes I actually used it hands on at the Lenovo press event back in January down at CES.

What specific questions did you have? I thought it was a pretty nice netbook; however, it comes at a bit of a price premium unfortunately.

Thanks. I have scratched this x100e off my list because of price.

Default Lenovo x100e is really slow! No return policy...

I got my beautiful fire red x100e a few weeks ago direct from the factory in China - through the Lenovo Direct website. I even used a Friends and Family discount of a cousin who works there.

Ok, it is INCREDIBLY slow. I have a T61 for work, and a T60 for personal use, and I know it will be slower than both of those. But, this is slow and expensive.

I like the full-size keyboard, the light weight of the unit, and the bright screen. But it is slow.

Since its arrival I have yet to connect it to any WiFi access point, including my own at home (I have both an Apple Time Capsule, and a Linksys running). I've been to two airports, two Starbucks, my office, and a friend's apartment. NO WiFi. Well, I should clarify, it will connect for a few seconds, then drop the connection. I have a support case open, and they offered to send me a new WiFi card, and showed me the videos to guide installation. (It will connect directly to an access point by ethernet.)

That's when I read the very fine print. Unless Lenovo makes an error - it cannot be returned except for a 15% stocking fee. WFT? I called within the 21-day period, and the agent said, prove you purchased another one, and I'll accept this one in return. There is NO unconditional return policy, they insisted I have it serviced by Lenovo.

Oh, and warranty begins day #1, which means, I have to pay shipping to the repair depot, even though it arrived with this problem.

Default This thing will run great if you change the OS

I bought mine about six months ago and immediately installed a copy of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. It was a little slow and got slower over time, and it ran extremely hot. Never had an issue with the heat, but you could feel it coming out of the side vent. I mainly use it for surfing and creating Word documents. It would sometimes stall mid-sentence when typing, so I decided to try another OS. First I installed XP Pro 64 bit. I could not get the hotkeys or the soundcard to work, so I went with XP Pro 32 bit. It works great and stays very cool even when in use. If you have one of these and are unhappy with the speed and the temperature, I recommend giving XP a try. And I am assuming less heat will translate into longer battery life, another bonus!

While Installing new operating system in a computer system few points you have to consider that your system\'s hardware configuration. if you have RAM(random Access Memory) less then 1 GB your are not able to get proper utilization of operating system. Checkout your processor type also and operating bits(32 or 64) 64 bits is suitable for Intel Core2Duo processor or above. minimum RAM require for Win7 OS is 1GB and for XP OS is 128MB.
