Hi everyone. I figured I would give a quick bio on me and am looking forward to being active in the forums.
I have been a music and computer fanatic since the late 1970's...grew up on an Apple //e, taught myself numerous programming languages such as Assembler, BASIC, Pascal,
VB, C++, and Java...without tooting my horn I consider myself a computer guru...not just 1 operating system like Windows or DOS but computers as an entire category...hardware, software, bits and bytes, etc.
I was a dj for a long time which helped put me through college and gave it up to use my CS degree.
I have held various computer positions in companies such as web developer, lab coordinator, IT Network Specialist, Programmer, and the last 10 years have been what's called Pre-Sales in which I work with Sales Reps to sell enterprise class software (that normally runs from $400,000 to several million bucks per sale).
The last few years my spare time has been eaten up more and more and I don't have time to hack everything apart (like installing OSX on pc hardware) but should be able to help folks do almost anything on pc hardware. I purchased a Dell Mini 9 in Jan 2009 and love it...the only thing I use it for is to stream my iTunes from my other pc so that I can play the music over my high end stereo system...$275 to my door was much better than the countless "consumer" mp3 systems that I've tried as well as the Apple products...not to mention it's a computer that I can use for other things like couch surfing or taking on vacation.
So that's about it from me...if you have questions, fire away. If you have specific Dell Mini 9 questions, I'm all ears.
