Asus user

I have an Asus eeePC 1000HE and a 901. My background is Mac. I like to try things to see how they work.

I hope to learn about networking and getting on the internet to browse, download, and store data. The net and the netbook seem like they should go together.

Welcome to the forums. You will find a few other Asus Eee PC users. I will be an HP Mini 110XP user when it comes in (on the 20th, I should have a review up by Monday) but have used a bunch of other netbooks including my all-time favorite: a Gateway powered by an AMD Athlon 64 chip with ATI X1270 graphics.

Feel free to ask any questions. The forums are kind of new but there seems to be a dedicated fanbase.

Hi netQ! Welcome to the Forums...go ahead and ask questions (in the GENERAL area) you have regarding networking and downloading and stuff in PCland since you come from Appleland.

Overall networking is networking...the intricacies on how to setup your computer (any computer) to work on the network varies by operating system (Apple, Windows, Linux, etc). But in 2009, it's pretty easy to fire up a new computer, plug your ethernet cable into the computer, and be on your way. Ditto for wireless networks.

But I'll let you ask the questions.
