Default Hello, I started this site

Hello,

I'm Chris Guthrie. I started Netbook Reviews in early 2009 and have been a netbook admirer since their debut in the fall of 2007.

I love the concept of the netbook - a small and affordable computing machine capable of most office computing tasks - and wanted to start a website to share that passion.

I hope that you meet some new friends, learn more about netbooks and have a good time.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about netbooks

Default Hello

Thanks Chris.
Your site helped me figure out what netbooks have to offer.
I hope to be sending you my thoughts on the Gateway Lt3103u later this week.

Hello,

I am in Toronto, Canada ... Any other canucks out there?

I'm looking forward to get as much info as possible as I am planning to get a netbook by mid-August since I will be going back to school again after 24 years! Right way, I'm leaning towards getting the ASUS Eee PC 1000HE since the SAMSUNG NC10 is not available in Canada. However, I do have a questionregarding the warranty on the battery - for ASUS it's only 6 months but ACER has 1 full year warranty on their batteries. I guess my concern how does ASUS' batteries perform after 6 months?

Grew up in Newfoundland but call Vancouver home when I can get back there.

I've had my 1000HE for five months of travel and have no doubt it will last a year or more. Getting ASUS or ACER to provide warranty service may be a problem.

What are you studying and what kind of tasks do you expect the netbook to do? I'm studying Naturopathy in Australia. Lab and lecture keep me busy.
