Default OSX on the hp mini

So I met a guy on campus who has a HP mini with OSX and my gosh it is a beautiful thing. Legalities aside, do any of the current forum members have a hackintosh?

What amazed me was the bootup shut down time, literally took like 5 seconds! I played around with spaces and everything was fluid and oh my, it was beautiful...

I love windows 7, but boy I am starting to see what those mac fanatics be cawing about...

Which brings me to my Discrete Math professor. The man is a mac fannatic to the point that I roll my eyes during lecture. Typical example, he writes on the board

"I use a mac" and ask us to translate to logical statements. fine.

Then emails us complaining that internet explorers did not display the characters correctly and that he blames Microsoft.

Next day translate "My computer is a mac"... sighs...connects said computer to the projector and sure enough its osx simply to show us something we could have looked up ourselves....lol

No, I don't run OS X on any of my PCs. The idea seems tempting but there are driver issues with older computers and I use a bunch of applications that are Windows only. WinFlume, HEC-RAS 4.0, HMMS, AutoCad, foobar2000, dBpowerAMP, KY-Pipe, and many others. They are all Windows only. Installing OS X on my netbook would be a waste as I would be in Windows 95% of the time. Even without those programs, I would still run Windows XP. My netbook has a Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator that works with one application right now: ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 2.0. Mac OS X drivers for that accelerator don't exist and there aren't any applications that would take advantage of it. I can't watch 1080p videos without that. The whole point of getting this HP mini 110XP is to watch HD videos.

That and Windows 7 is just around the corner. Mac OS X looks nice and it is a pretty solid OS but the majority of companies offer software for Windows only. It is hard being an engineer with an Apple computer as most of the applications that we use are Windows only. I have always wanted to own an Apple computer as well but I can never justify making such a purchase (they are expensive) if only 27% of the programs that I run (on a daily basis) will work with it.

No Mac on a PC for me and I'm a Mac user although I have XP on a Mac. Embrace the Mac fanaticism with Gee Whiz, Wow, Gosh that's beautiful comments to improve your grade chances and dump what you don't like after the course. There's no PC/Mac fanatic filter for teachers.

HP Mini 1000 is a advanced range of altered configurations of the Internet in this alternation specified. 1000 and other models, such as a call with MI HP Mini Linux rather than Windows XP.

>> Well ya\' gotta have *something* to translate in to a logi-statement set.
>> There is something called \"the philosophy of relevance.\" Where the premises of an argument are to be relevant to the conclusion. (No demonstration of a chair\'s reality to be used in a proof of something about NASA\'s affordability.)

Then emails us complaining that internet explorers did not display the characters correctly and that he blames Microsoft.

>> I ride a motorcycle with a loyal following. (Not a loud bike, BTW!) A person\'s life can, a bit, become centered around a bit of technology. Like the camera or a bicycle.

>> But then I don\'t know your professor.
lol

cheers
