Default HP Mini 5101 - I want badly

I love the fact that there will finally be a 10 inch netbook with an option for a resolution above 1024 x 600.

Perhaps it's just me but I'm tired of the small screen space!

That was my single complaint regarding modern Asus Eee PC netbooks. The resolution is too low as I (along with other people) have to constantly scroll when reading Word documents or visiting websites. Netbooks need a 1336X768 resolution even with 10" screens.

HP's Mini 5101 is way too expensive for what is underneath the hood though. You are mainly paying for the chasis as other netbooks are running the same hardware for a lot less. I think HP could have justified the much higher price had the netbook come with an Intel ULV processor, a single-core AMD Athlon 64, or a dual-core AMD Neo as seen in HP's dv2z multimedia netbook.

I got a direct link to HP where you can preorder the 5101 for $399. (they claim a $125 savings)

I heard that the retail price was going to be $449 so I don't know where the $125 comes from.

Anyway... I don't see any way to order the 1336X768 version yet so I guess I gotta wait. Don't want to kick myself 2 or 3 weeks from now because I had no patience.

From what I've seen, they all are about the same so I'm going for sturdiness.

I liked the H1005HA ASUS but the track pad is just too wierd and doesn't seem sensitive to my fat fingers. I need something that appreciates a light touch
