Default Window too big for screen

Hi folks,

I have a general problem with my Lenovo IdeaPad S10e, which some of you might know.

My screen has a resolution of 1024x576. Some of my applications run on a minimum resolution of 800x600. I also use programs, which prompt unreducable dialogues, which are bigger than my screen. So sometimes I have problems to hit buttons on the bottom of windows, not to mention that it sucks in general.

I am searching for a piece of software, which displays windows with higher resolutions on a smaller screen. I thought of a kind of virtual screen with a DEmagnifying mode, but I could not find something like that. However I am interested in any solution and I do not care about any loss of visual quality.

If someone knows a solution, I would be happy to hear it.

Cheers

EDIT:
To give you a better idea of what I am talking about, I have made a few pictures. This is one of those dialogues as it is displayed on my screen:

Clearly it is too big for my screen. I cannot reduce its size, and I cannot move it higher on the screen (Sure, I can drag the window and move it upwards with arrow keys, but as soon as I release the mouse button it jumps back to the top of the screen). So let us maximize^^ it:

Now I can hit the buttons on the bottom. But they are place in the middle of a checkbox.
This is the whole window:

It measures 1066x700 pixels. I pasted the image together using four screenshots.

Finally this is a montage of my desktop with a "demagnifying" tool how I would imagine it:

This would be something like a virtual screen with a custom virtual resolution, on which a window runs. The virtual screen would then be reduced to a custom size and displayed on the actual one.

Did your IdeaPad come with a feature for this? I know that Asus also uses a low resolution LCD panel for their netbooks as well but they offer a utility that will zoom out on the application so that you can see it on the low resolution monitor.

I am not aware of any applications that do this but I am sure there are some out there. First, I would examine any Toshiba applications that you have on your netbook. Check Toshiba's website if you ended up uninstalling all of the applications that came pre-installed on your netbook.

I have Lenovo 3000N200 running the highest resolution, 1280x800. to set resolution, right click any blank space on desktop, click properties, settings, select resolution by sliding indicator to the right. click ok, it will preview it giving you a chance to keep or select another setting.

Lenovo.com/support has good videos on some models, try Goggling your question, stay away from ASK.COM, they charge. Ram is cheep, max it out to save on problems.

I'm not trying to steal your thread .. but I have your problem with my asus netbook. how does this - work - I know that Asus also uses a low resolution LCD panel for their netbooks as well but they offer a utility that will zoom out on the application so that you can see it on the low resolution monitor. I need to run a higher resolution but everything falls off the "screen or desktop"!
