Okay, I didn't have time to run the full test, but something wierd happened.

First, the Toshiba took forever to charge, the Asus charged very quickly.

I ran the test for two hours, figuring I'd use the percentages to see how much difference the mouse makes...I noticed during the first time the percentages and time estimates were fairly accurate.

At the end of the two hour test, the Asus was at 72%, while the Toshiba at 76%.

That's a big difference, and is very strange, considering the Asus should now be consuming a bit less power than before.

I'll run a full test on Wednesday.

Default netbook battery info

Here's a recent article about Windows 7 and batteries that you might find interesting.

Okay, ran same test again, without the mouse receiver, this time the Toshiba died first, but only 7 minutes before the Asus.

Keep in mind the Tosh was running just a bit brighter, so the battery life is about even on these two, or the Toshiba might have a bit more. This means the Asus is a bit more efficient, since it has 500 less mAh to work with.

The Toshiba has faster memory access...if you start the movie, then close it and start it again (so that it loads from RAM), the Toshiba always gets there first. This might account for some of the extra power consumption.
