Default Westwood wants more consistency

Lee Westwood is hoping to cut down his error rate when he tees off at the Dubai Desert Classic on Thursday. Titleist 712 AP2 Irons


The Englishman has been solid enough in his opening two events of the season, finishing 17th at the Abu Dhabi Championship and tied for 12th at last week\'s Qatar Masters, but hasn\'t really caught fire yet.

While he is satisfied with certain aspects of his game so far in 2012, he acknowledges that he will need to be more consistent off the tee and with his wedge shots at the Emirates Golf Club this week Titleist 712 AP2 Irons

\"Normally they grow the rough up a little bit here,\" said Westwood. \"They\'ve also got the greens firm so it puts a bit of a demand on hitting the fairways.

\"If I was making an appraisal of the first couple of weeks, I\'ve hit it a lot better than I normally do. Titleist 712 AP2 Irons

\"My putts are quite nice, I\'m starting to roll a few longer ones in, but it\'s just been early-season sloppiness really, making too many bogeys and not making a birdie when I should.
