Default At times, winning means having to say you\'re sorry

You never want to see anybody go through that … not even your worst enemy on the planet,\" Snedeker said afterward. \" Callaway Razr X Tour Irons
is such a funny game, and to have that kind of lead coming into the last hole and not to win is tough.\"
Though not entirely unusual. At least once a year, it seems, somebody loses in cringeworthy fashion – a commanding lead blown, a compelling storyline sent to rewrite.
Sometimes it happens in a major. See Jean Van de Velde, Carnoustie 1999. Or Phil Mickelson, Winged Foot 2006.
That\'s golf in its imperfect, twisted splendor. Callaway Razr X Tour Irons
In most sports, though, there\'s a direct cause-and-effect relationship between winner and loser. In golf, they just hand the trophy to the next guy – and, perhaps, a conflicted sense of triumph.
\"You almost feel guilty backing into a win like that,\" Snedeker said.
He shouldn\'t. The Tennesseean\'s closing 67 matched Sunday\'s best round. And storming from off the pace is nothing new to him – before making up a seven-stroke deficit to Stanley, his other two wins came via comebacks of five and six shots.
But it\'s difficult to gauge how to react. Jim Furyk can relate – engaged in a playoff with Brian Davis two years ago at Hilton Head, he was declared the winner without striking a putt. Callaway Razr X Tour Irons
Davis had breached a rule when his backswing nicked a reed while trying a rescue shot in Calibogue Sound. The two-stroke penalty led Davis to concede the hole and the trophy.
\"It was an awkward moment,\" Furyk said that day.
Not the most awkward victory, though, on Furyk\'s portfolio. That came at the 1997 Argentine Open, when he was set for a three-man playoff with Eduardo Romero and Vicente Fernandez – only to see the two Argentines disqualified for improper scorecards.
A mixup had led Romero and Fernandez to record their scores on the other man\'s cards. Ouch.
When 59-year-old Tom Watson\'s quest for a storybook British Open crown fell short 2 1/2 years ago, winner Stewart Cink was asked if he felt like a Hollywood villain who stole away the girl at the end of the movie. Callaway Razr X Tour Irons
\"As long as the result is I get the girl, I\'m OK with that,\" Cink said. \"I had to play against everybody in the field, and the course, to come out on top. I don\'t think anything can be taken away.\"

Sometimes the best-intentioned wedding professionals can create a lot of cringe-worthy moments at a wedding. There is the photographer who is running around the altar to get great angles and ends up being a major distraction during the ceremony.
