How much did you spend on that used Wind U100 (if you don't mind me asking)? I don't know how to pop the hard drive out of your defunct unit but you can always hook it up to an external display and simply copy the files over using a USB storage device. That is a simple procedure that doesn't need to be outlined.

At least with purchasing another U100, you can take the battery out of your old one and carry it with you. A netbook that is permanently plugged into an external display does not need a battery especially since you will be leaving it plugged into its AC adapter all the time.

Default With Red Face, I think....

...I tell you that I spent $275.00 for the netbook and software which also includes malware and anti-virus software. I thought that having PhotoShop (full version 7) and Office on the computer was a real plus!

Hope I haven't made a mistake!

Yes, I will use the old one on my desktop monitor and will move files that I need from it.

Where do I find my email files? I have saved many important documents in email files on Outlook. Wish I could save them somewhere!! HELP!!

Microsoft Outlook files are typically stores in .PST and .OST files. You may want to Google on how to backup/restore Microsoft Outlook if you need help.

Regardless, find the PST and OST files and copy them somewhere...
