Default Gonzalo ousts Woods from Top 50

Despite having a great day in Melbourne, not everything went Tiger Woods\' way on Sunday.
A second place finish for Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano at the Dunlop Phoenix 2011 in Japan was good enough to see the Spaniard hoist himself into the top 50 in the world - at the cost of Woods, who only just managed to make his Titleist 712 AP2 Irons back in there last week.
While Japan\'s Toshinori Muto produced a superb final-round 63 to claim victory on his home soil, a 71 from Fernandez-Castano on Sunday saw him finish alone in second, four strokes behind the winner.
Though Tiger was securing the Titleist 712 AP2 Irons winning point for the USA in their Presidents Cup win over the Internationals at the same time as Fernandez-Castano was finishing up in Japan, he could do nothing to add to to his ranking points, as the bieenial matchplay event does not count towards the rankings list.
It continues a good run of form for Fernandez-Castano, who secured Titleist 712 AP2 Irons victory at the Singapore Open a week ago. If he can stay in the top 50 for another month he will earn an automatic place in the Masters field for next year.
