Default 1001PX Recovery Disk

Hi everyone.

I need a windows 7 starter recovery disk for my EeePC 1001PX. The Asus eStore only has disks compatible with the 1001PX that are Windows XP.

Eee PC Recovery Software

I was considering to purchase the 1001P windows 7 starter disk, Would that be okay? Any help would be great.

This would be something that you need to contact Asus for. Just know that most netbook manufacturers don't offer recovery discs simply because they expect you to use the recovery partition on the hard drive. So Asus may not offer a recovery disc for your system, it all depends on what they have to say.

I suggest you e-mail their tech support directly as Asus support absolutely sucks (it is right down there with Acer).

ASUS customer support leaves much to be desired. As an inevitable response, though, there is an *incredible* community set up to help (forum.eeeuser.com).

Go there. Search the forum. It is likely that a search will either point you to using the recovery partition, or some other assistance.

Don't waste your money on Windows 7 Starter. Your money is better spent on Windows 7 Home Premium off the shelf at your local computer store. ASUS should have the drivers you need on their website.
