Default netbook Win 7 Home Premium

I just installed Win 7 Home Premium on my netbook.

I want to try it out before I pay up to MS.

With the download period expired on MS, is there anyplace to get a trial version anymore?

Thanks, Bill

Not really. You might be able to find some websites hosting it but Microsoft was pretty quick to shut down the ones I knew about. There are always more shady sources where you can download the RC version from but, with the retail release only a couple of months away, I would just wait. No point in downloading and installing the RC version now when you are just going to reformat your computer and install the retail edition in a few months.

The first thing I would do is check with friends to see if any of them have downloaded a copy.

Oops, I'm sorry. Should have learned by now not to assume.

Default Windows 7 Home Premium

W7 non-RTM Home Premium is not working smoothly on my Asus 1000HE. This is the free download of Ultimate but gives me an option to load Home Premium.

The XP drivers from Asus won't load so I have to use Intel drivers and Microsoft drivers.

The graphics driver is flaky with a sometimes flickering screen.

This is not the final version so don't see this as a Diss report. It only means you will want to check out the RTM and all the proper drivers for your computer before you pay any money.

Any Asus users have any Windows 7 reports?
