New user question (First charge)

Hi

Have just bought my Girlfriend a Asus Netbook 1015PX, i wanted to set it up so she can use it straight out the box (favourites etc)

However,

It says i have to charge it up for 8 hours before use

but can\'t i use it while its having it\'s first charge?
