Question Netbook would not POWER ON, after completing Win7 installation.

I have ASUS 1000HD-BKBB1 (10.1” LCD 160GB, 1GB RAM, 1.6 GHz); however after completing the Window 7 installation, the computer just died. (Later I learned Window 7 is not compatible with the current Netbook).
It just does not turn on and no LED light come on even after power cord is plugged (power plug is tested to be good). I removed the battery and tried to plug the power, but still no sign of power. However, I noticed very low clicking sound (maybe 1 second interval or less) when I put my ear next to it.

Can anyone help? I am guessing FUSE that goes to motherboard, but I am not sure if the Netbook even has the fuse one the board.
Someone said FAN or HARD DRIVE or MOTHER BOARD, but such an instance, I’d still see the LED light to be on or show at least some booting sequence!!!!

Default W7 power on

It is most likely your BIOS. I have an Asus that does not like W7. Can you reload your old or original software, check your BIOS version and tell us what it is? The Asus site has BIOS upgrades or in some cases downgrades that may allow you to use W7.

Since there is no LED even when simply plugging in the power cord, this could either simply be a bad power supply (and you might be unaware that your battery is dead)...or a bad plug inside your netbook that provides the electricity to the computer/motherboard.

Very likely this is a hardware issue...not a software/firmware (BIOS) issue that Netbooking recommended...the physical hardware isn't even getting power.

Bring it back to your retailer and try one of their power plugs.

Another test is to remove the battery, keep it removed, and try the power cord.

How long have you been using this netbook?

Let us know...
