Default Android Apps for Acer D255E

Having been sorely disappointed that my new D255E can not access the Android Apps Market I am wondering if there is any way I can safely download relevant, useful Apps from another source. I'm afraid the examples offered on the Insyde Market Client Gateway (the inbuilt software) are utterly meaningless, the few that there are.

I suggest looking into the Amazon Android App Marketplace (or whatever it is called, it is Amazon's Android app store) to see if that will work with your system. The issue with using Android on a netbook is that it uses non-conforming hardware that is not only a different platform from the majority (over 99% of Android "systems" use ARM processors) but you also have different inputs (physical mouse instead of touchscreen, higher resolution larger display, a full Windows physical keyboard, wi-fi and bluetooth hardware not provided by Broadcom or one of the other 2 companies, etc.).

That is why many companies release el-cheapo tablets that lack Google's official Android App Marketplace. You can also find websites that host apps, that is how I downloaded Netflix before it officially supported my Droid X. I won't link you to them since they violate Google's EULA but a quick 3 second Google search (how ironic) will bring them up.
