I actually like reading on the computer. But that's just me.
So do I...I am on my work pc for probably 8 hours a day, then another 2-3 on my home pc.

But...there is a BIG difference between reading all sorts of documents, web sites, colored pages/text, different font sizes, etc. on your computer all day compared to reading a single digital plain white/black text PDF for 3 non-stop hours. Huge huge difference.

A proper e-book reader is going to have a very special screen that is dedicated to helping you read just like you read a book now. If these special screens existed 25 years ago, the ebook revolution would have started way back in 1985 and not 2008.
