Best Selling Netbooks of December

This month's best selling netbook is the Acer AOD250-1197 10 inch netbook with Windows 7 starter. Priced at $279.99, the Acer netbook has finally toppled the long standing champion the Asus Eee PC 1005HA (which held the top spot for five months in a row). This month's results show some insight into consumers buying behavior that is worth mentioning. Instead of going for netbooks with Nvidia ION, larger hard drives and more RAM they went for a very inexpensive netbook instead. This could show that the core group of netbook buyers just needs something inexpensive to get on the web and do a little office work, then again $279.99 for a netbook with Windows 7 Starter and 8 hours of battery life is an insanely good deal that is hard to pass up. In either case let's move onto the rest of the list:

This month showed the biggest changes in the bestsellers list in a long time with the biggest change being the Acer Aspire One's number 1 position. In fact, the Acer Aspire One AOD250 even made the top 10 list in three different colors; Blue, Red and Black all at $279.99. Asus also had a strong showing with 4 of the top 10 spots with the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU17-BK at $349 taking 2nd. (Read the Asus Eee PC 1005HA review here). The Toshiba Mini NB205 was 3rd and at $323.07 with Windows 7 I'm surprised it didn't finish even higher. That is the lowest price I've seen on the Toshiba NB205 as it usually fluctuates between $345 to $365. (Read the Toshiba NB205 review here. Dell rarely makes the top selling list at Amazon because most people buy direct, but moving up a slot to number 9 and priced at $309.91 it's a good deal. I'll be very interested to see if the Acer Aspire One comes in at number 1 next month but at $279.99 it can't be beat on price.
