ASUS Eee PC 1008P vs 1008HA
ASUS was showing off a few new netbooks at this year's CES and while I will get to those with some of my later posts I wanted to take some time to highlight the upgraded ASUS Eee PC 1008P first:
Since I happen to own an ASUS Eee PC 1008HA I wanted to give a new perspective on just how much better the ASUS Eee PC 1008P is vs the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA starting first with some comparison pictures...
The design on the ASUS Eee PC 1008P is incredible. The pictures truly don't do it justice. Now I'm normally not the type of guy that cares much about what's on the outside as I tend to focus more on the inside. I do the same thing with people and yes I'm pretty awesome like that. But when you look at the way the light catches the lid and provides a stunning wave like sheen it's hard not to take notice. The lid is not a flat surface and instead has a bit of a wave to it which helps to create some of the impressive visuals.
The other thing to keep in mind is that this netbook alleviates two previous complaints about the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA: Difficult to upgrade and no user replaceable battery. Now the Asus Eee PC 1008P will come with TWO batteries you can swap out (both 3 cell) and expected to provide 6 hours of battery life each. They also added in a little RAM bay door in case you want to upgrade from the 1 GB standard memory. The keyboard has also been changed over to a chiclet style which I must say is a big improvement over the 1008HA as well. Finally, the netbook will also ship with the new Intel Atom N450 1.66 GHz processor as well.
I like the brown one the most and would actually like to see several other color choices as well. Perhaps black or a blue? In any case, as you can see from the images above and the differences I've explained it's easy to see why there is so much to love about the new 1008P.
What do you think of it?
