Asus Eee PC 1005HA Shipping with more color
I missed this one the other day when the Asus Eee PC 1005HA started shipping; however, I discovered that the netbook is also available and shipping in colors other than blue and black.
There are actually several versions of the Asus Eee PC 1005HA available at Amazon.com. In fact, there are four colors with different battery configurations in total:
ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BK Black 10.5 Hour Battery Life ($389.99)
ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BU Blue 10.5 Hour Battery Life ($389.99)
ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-VU1X-BK Black 8.5 Hour Battery Life ($349.99)
ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-VU1X-BU Blue 8.5 Hour Battery Life ($349.99)
New Options:
ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-VU1X-WT White 8.5 Hour Battery Life ($349.99)
Pre-Order: ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-VU1X-PI 10.1-Inch Pink 8.5 Hour Battery Life ($349.99)
As you can tell it appears that the 10.5 hour battery life configurations are not available in White or Pink yet, but if 8.5 hours of battery life is enough for you feel free to pick up the 1005HA in White

Update: NetbookReviews reader Shadi points out another difference between the configurations. The more expensive models also use Intel Atom N280 processors whereas the other options use Intel Atom N270 processors.

The differences for the 1005HA-P (390$) models and the 1005HA-V (350$) models are not only in battery life. The 1005HA-V has a slower cpu, an Atom N270 (1.6 Ghz), while the 1005HA-P has an Atom N280 (1.66 Ghz).

Any ideas/rumors about when the pink netbook will actually be available for shipping? My wife really wants either a pink or purple netbook for her birthday and if this will not be available for a while still we may end up going with the Dell mini10 instead. Thanks.

Hi, I really want to buy this netbook, but I want the P version… Do you know if it is going to be available in pink or white?
Amazon is already selling the V version in those colors, but Asus people shouldn’t force potencial buyers to decide between features and their color preferences…
The 1005HA-V comes with a matte screen vs. glossy on the 1005HA-P. The ‘V’ series also lacks bluetooth and does not come with a netbook sleeve.
Asus, why do you mare perfection?
What I really want is a 1005HA-P in white (or something that doesn’t attract fingerprints) AND with a matte screen. A glare type screen is in no way a premium option over a matte finish. I have a Dell with a glare type screen and it can be an issue even when sitting inside if you’re under a light or near a window.
Please Asus, introduce a matte screen version in white, a matte screen, and bluetooth at the very least!
Finally, I just wanted to add a note about the keyboard. I have seen four units in stores and in two of these I experienced painful amount of flex. I would consider this it a manufacturing fault, with the keyboard not being properly fixed to the body.
The other two had superb keyboards that were among the best netbook keyboards that I have every used. I would recommend those interested should check the unit you intend to take home before you purchase.
