The Asus Eee PC 1005HA is now available for pre-order at $349.99
The Asus Eee PC 1005HA is very similar in both design and features to the Asus Eee PC 1008HA; however, it features on key differentiator: user replaceable battery. Here's the full spec list:

For those of you that can't wait for the Asus Eee PC 1005HA to be released be sure to read our Asus Eee PC 1008HA review to see if that netbook can meet your needs instead. Again, unless you need to replace the battery I would just buy the Asus Eee PC 1008HA (it's slightly more expensive at $417 right now though).

They had a display model set up yesterday 6/19 at my Best Buy in Orem, UT along with some other new full size Asus lappys. Looked pretty sexy and the blue shirt showed me a $299 price tag but they only received 2 units in and had sold both earlier. Their supposed to get 18 on Tuesday so look for them en masse next week.
They had an Asus Eee PC 1005HA on display? I’m near certain it’s not in retail stores yet. Are you thinking of a different Eee PC?
I bought one at Best Buy on 6/18 it is a Eee pc 1005HAB . Priced at 299. It has the Atom 270 , 160 drive, 1g ram, wifi B/G/N . It dose not have blue tooth or the 8 cell battery? I runs about 3hrs on full charge.
Also found a 1005HA on display at my local Best Buy for $299. Checked with the sales clerk and they had unit(s) ready to sell. One thing I noticed was that the battery was the 3-cell 23W version.
Interesting. If it’s 1005HAB than that is a different model than the 1005HA…
Where are you guys located?
It’s the same thing they did with the 1000HE. I purchashed an HEB (not the addition of the B) from best buy and it likewise had a nerfed battery, no bluetooth and the a270 processor. I took it back so I could order the HE…. however.. i think I’ll wait and order the 1005HA.

Yah that’s why I like to stick to Amazon. I upgraded to prime a few months ago and just order everything through there… literally everything hah hah.
That way you know you’re getting the real deal.
Looks like the 1005HA is back up for pre-order though.
