Adobe Flash 10.1 tested and the results are exciting

Adobe-LabsAdobe has just posted a prerelease version of Adobe Flash player 10.1 which includes the highly anticipated hardware video decoding. What does this mean to you? Well, if you buy a netbook with one of their supported chipsets and want to watch HD content on Hulu or YouTube you won't be treated to a slide show of the program you want to watch. Instead, you would be able to actually watch the content without frame stutters. Unfortunately the Intel GMA 950 graphics chipset found in nearly all current netbooks isn't supported (full support list PDF here), but if you owned an HP Mini 311 with an Nvidia ION chipset you would benefit from the new Flash version.

LaptopMag ran some tests comparing various netbooks with and without Flash 10.1 and the results speak for themselves:

The HP Mini 311 with Flash 10.1 performed much better than the HP Mini 311 with the older version of Flash 10.
